Eternity Changes Everything
Hebrews 6:1-3 ‘go on towards maturity’ – why has God stated the journey of your soul in a world where you can know trouble, rejections, struggle??
Why didn’t He start you in heaven where there is no tears?Because there is something vital and precious God is wanting you to take with you from this level of your existence into the next and that is…your spiritual growth.
Why has God placed us here to acquire spiritual growth? Well, when you believe in eternity the answer is obvious – it’s because we are going to need it where we are going next.
If eternity is real….If your soul can never die or cease to exist….If the passing away of your present life is going to usher you into the next stage of your soul’s existence and expression…..THEN THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING.
If your soul will never lose its self-awareness…..If your soul lives forever (always retaining your memories and the maturity of your experiences)….THEN THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING.
I now understand what Jesus meant when He said…..’the first will be last, and the last will be first’….
I understand how my faithfulness & sacrifice here can be turned into me one day hearing Jesus day, ‘Well done good and faithful servant – faithful over little I will now set you over much – enter into the Joy of the Lord’.
I understand how my suffering can be turned into a crown. Because eternity is real and my soul lives forever….that changes everything.
- - It changes LOSS into GAIN
- - It changes TRIALS into a refined heart of GOLD
- - It changes the giving of my MONEY for the cause of Christ into TREASURE in heaven
The ‘forever’ of my soul changes everything…..It changes the giant of fear that I battle into bread that makes me strong for the journey.My belief in eternity causes me to lift up my eyes to God and rescues me from living a small, petty, self-absorbed life!! Because eternity is real and my soul will enter eternity at the same level of maturity that I leave this stage of my existence….then I am going to see to it that nothing that happens to me is going to be wasted.
