Intercessory Prayer
We come together with one heart and one mind to touch heaven and change the earth through our devotion in prayers
There are several key functions of the intercessory team:-
1. Building bridges for our families, leaders, church, city and nation through prayer
2. Providing a prayer shield for our pastoral staff and leaders
3. Building a wall of spiritual protection over the church
4. Training up intercessors, children and adults, and mobilizing people to pray
5. Reaching out to the community through prayer and acts of kindness.
By this we focus on the following areas:-
· Prayer walks in the neighbourhood
· Adopting local schools by praying for them and liaising with the school chaplain for specific prayer needs of the school
· Extending prayers to other churches, praying for interchurch unity
· Praying for businesses of congregation members as well as on special request
It is in the vision of the church, ‘We have a dream’ that we be deeply committed to prayer and intercession. We recognize that the answer to be an impact to the unchurched world is prayer. We believe we are unable to do the works of Jesus without prayer. The strength of the church lies in the strength of the prayer life of our people. We seek His presence, desiring to walk in intimacy with Jesus. We want to be a people that are hopelessly in love with Jesus, so that His agenda becomes our agenda, His will becomes our will. We want to persistently link our hearts in prayer with the heavenly Father so that His plan and purpose for us as a church can be fulfilled – to see multitudes coming into His Kingdom.
