“The LORD is a warrior; the LORD is his name.” Ex 15:3 NIV
“The LORD will march out like a mighty man, like a warrior he will stir up his zeal; with a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.” Isa 42:13 NIV
Here is an aspect of our God that we don’t often realize… He is a warrior triumphing over His enemies.
When Jesus deals with the repentant sinner he is forgiving and merciful. When he deals with the hurting and broken hearted he is moved with compassion to bring wholeness.
But make no mistake about it… Jesus, is also a Warrior with the heart of a conqueror declaring, “I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.”
“The kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.” Matt 11:12-13 NIV
‘Nice’ doesn’t make disciples; ‘Nice’ will not kill the giants in your life; ‘Nice’ will not challenge you to change your ungodly ways; ‘Nice’ will settle for compromise; ‘Nice’ has no power or no authority to bring answers to the desperate needs of our world.
Here’s an example of the radical nature of Jesus:
In Acts 1:8 Jesus totally shocked His disciples:
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 NIV
Jesus said “I want you to take this Gospel to Samaria”
The Samaritans were thought of as an unclean pack of mongrels – and from childhood every little Jewish boy was told “Don’t have anything to do with those people, they are bad to the bone and they will pollute your soul.”
But when it came to the Samaritans, your wild, warrior Jesus broke every religious rule in the book…
He went to Samaria; He spoke the word of God to a Samaritan Woman of loose morals, stayed in their homes and ate their food.
Do you know that our wild, Warrior God is still sending His people to speak His word to the Samaritans of Society?
Who are your Samaritans? Who are the ‘keep away from them’ people in your life?
• Homosexuals? Homeless people? Aboriginal people? Neighbours?
The Cause of His Kingdom stands for:-
• Freedom for those in bondage,
• Justice for the victims with no voice,
• Righteousness where there is evil.
God has seeded your heart with certain desires and those desires are His Will seeking manifestation on the Earth. What is in you is there because God wants it done. What breaks your heart is there because it's breaking His heart.
The spirit of our warrior God manifests Himself through you in a way that is compatible with who we are.
What’s breaking your heart? It’s probably breaking God’s heart too…
There is something that the Spirit wants to say to you – can you hear it?
He is wanting to send you in a response to a cry for help that is coming out of the harvest field around you.
It is a specific cry pitched to resonate with the passions and gifting of your life - God has prepared you to answer that cry. It’s a cry that already matches the holy discontent you are feeling on the inside.
RUN TO THE BATTLE and bring the victory of God.
