Urban Announcement

Ally and I have an announcement to make of transistion and change that is really very exciting for us. Its sort of a happy sad announcement but we really feel its forward motion for us and also this church. We are planting a church this year!  We are being released and sent out by Ps David and Harvestnet to birth what is in us!  A local church expression.

At the beginning of 2012 we both started feeling a shift about our future and where it lay and God started working in our hearts.

Then in March John and Monette Jacks - prophets came and prophesied this to us in front of all the staff!

John & Monette Jacks – 21 March 2012

“Really stirred this morning about the fact that change is on the way….change is on the way.  I am aware of what you’re doing and I don’t want to prophesy you out of what you’re doing because then Ps David will be mad at me – but I hear God saying to you,

The call of God has been upon your life for some time and the situation has been that you have been doing that which God has given unto you very faithfully – this is an era, a season that you have entered into of finishing.  Finishing what God has been preparing in your heart.  Get ALL you can because the Lord is about to bring you into a new dimension, a new level, a new care giving, a new vision – all of those things that God is working within your hearts to accomplish and establish.

We talk about church planting and doing things like that, I like the word ‘church birthing’ – I believe there is a lot of labour involved in getting a church going and in that whole thing – I think God has impregnated you with the desire to accomplish His purposes with the people He will bring unto you and entrust with you. Please talk to your Pastor about this – don’t get mad at me, but I hear God just saying this is a seasons where – it’s a finishing of the wholeness and the fullness of what He has been speaking to your hearts about for years and years and years.”

WOW! This was the start of a transition for us. We immediately starting talking to Ps David about it as we were so involved here and really never thought we'd start a church! Nevertheless it started a chain of events for the next 6 months of prophetic words, dreams and confirmations that it was a time of finishing and we felt the Lord starting to speak to us about planting a church and birthing our own expression.

It was October during the worship conference that we felt the lord speak to us clearly, and so we made the decision to actually do this and ‘birth’ what God had put inside of us.

So it is with great excitement that we want to announce that we are planting a Harvestnet church in September this year. It’s obviously going to be a massive year of change but it’s all good, and we know that Jesus is at the centre of it all and he is the great orchestrator! Pastor David and the eldership have given us their blessing to be released at this time as we want to leave well and make sure PerthCLC will be stronger than ever when we leave.

I want to say that I consider Ps David my spiritual father, he has taught me so much about life and ministry as a Pastor and leader, and I cant think of a better person to be mentored by. Ps David is such a secure and releasing leader, he is a man of integrity and honour and really has helped both Ally and I through this transition. I'm really looking forward to our relationship growing stronger as we embark on this journey. I also want to celebrate and honour the most amazing bunch of musicians and crazy worshippers we have had the privilege of serving with this last 13 years...im going to stop now as tears are coming and we have a few months left!!
So now about our heart and vision for this and the place and name of it….

God has given us a heart for the Claremont Cottesloe Nedlands area. There are very few pentecostal churches in that western corridor of our city – the Stirling hwy western suburbs area.
The materially rich people in those areas but spiritually poor. They need to hear the gospel and encounter the reality of Jesus. We really felt God was saying to us that this area, this city needed to hear what God had put on our hearts!

URBAN CHURCH is the name God gave us – it means "of, pertaining to or designating a city!

So then our heart and vision.

Presence – His Energy The reality of Jesus and a real and supernatural relationship with him His presence and power. His energy working in peoples lives demonstrated with tangible signs and wonders, ministering to the body soul and spirit of a person. Theology must lead to real encounter. Christianity is supposed to be supernatural.

Worship - His Passion Our whole lives centered around loving him and others. The first and second commandment in their rightful place. Our priority is what is heaven saying, what is God doing, then secondly how can we minister his life to people and disciple revivalists.

Kingdom - His world. Seeing the reality of the kingdom of God manifesting on earth. Evangelism with power. People are saved through an encounter with God. Romans 1:16 the gospel or good news of Jesus is the power of God unto salvation. I see us both having a ministry of releasing refreshing and empowering people. Our vision is to see the reality of His kingdom manifest on earth in every sphere in society!

So we are currently look for the right location in that area of the western suburbs.

There are 3 things you can do for us

Pray – we need to win the war in the spirit first. Please pray for Ally and I and our family. Pray for the birth of Urban church and that God brings the right people.

Prayerfully consider joining us on this journey.

Give or support Urban Church financially to help establish and plant this church.

We we certainly are in a season of transition and forward motion as a church but there is a few more months before we leave.

Ally and I really love and appreciate all of you guys heaps!www.facebook.com/UrbanChurch
